The Lord said in Leviticus 26.18 that if Israel disobeyed Him, and walked contrary to Him after all that He had done for them, He would punish them seven times for their sins.
He said virtually the same thing in verse 21.
Then He said in verse 23, He declared that if those punishments did not reform them, and they continued to walk contrary to Him, He would do this,
“…then I also will walk contrary to you, and I will punish you yet seven times for your sins” (Leviticus 26.24).
The human capacity to insist on rebellion against its Maker, astounds the imagination.
We love our sin, and even punishment from Him who created us and loves us, will not deter us from what we have determined to do.
Be sure that you do not let yourself go so deep into sin, as ancient Israel did, that you will not repent.
