In Leviticus 26.18, the Lord stated that if Israel did not repent after He had punished them for their disobedience, He would punish them seven times more for their sins.
If that did not work, He said this again,
“Then, if you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins” (Leviticus 26.21).
He would discipline them perfectly, and He would do it again. He loved Israel, and He wanted the best for them, but sometimes that requires exercising severe discipline.
