As the twelve spies went through the Land of Canaan, Moses wrote of their path,
“And they went up through the South and came to Hebron; Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)” (Numbers 13.22).
While Moses made a significant historical note, the fact that it was seven years between the building times of Hebron and Zoan, is incidental, but Moses making a historical note for verification was by no means incidental.
